Accountant – Rochester, MN

 

Our client, a dynamic and growing metal fabrication facility, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the company’s financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Accounts Payable/Receivable:

o Process invoices from vendors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

o Prepare and process vendor payments in a timely manner.

o Manage customer accounts, including invoicing, collections, and resolving customer inquiries.

o Monitor accounts receivable aging and implement strategies to improve cash flow.

· General Ledger Accounting:

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.

o Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.

o Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

· Inventory Management:

o Assist with the tracking and reconciliation of inventory levels, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

o Analyze inventory usage and identify areas for improvement.

· Cost Accounting:

o Assist with the analysis of production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.

o Prepare and analyze cost reports to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.

· Financial Reporting:

o Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.

o Prepare and analyze key financial metrics and reports for management.

· Tax Compliance:

o Assist with the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns.

 

Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.

· 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.

· Experience with QuickBooks is essential.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
